Starlight: a new look

Here are some initial concept designs for the new uniform and the treatment of the pictures.
I decided that the short sleeves didn't really work so I extended them. I kept the lines in and then added more to give the uniforms more details.

I also experimented with lighting and how to make the uniforms really glow. You can see from these initial pictures that it didn't always work out. The red/maroon uniform for the ensigns came up by accident. When that worked, I thought it would be nice to add some color to the uniform code, so there are variations of sleepwear and workout clothes that you will see later on.

I wanted to keep the green for the Ground Command troopers and the black lines didn't really work here. So I tried softer white lines that, when added to the uniform in Photoshop, turned it a lighter shade of green.

Also, you may have noticed, I've removed the yellow scarab from the uniform and changed it into a design insignia that is on the uniform itself. It's hell to do because you have to account for the position of the body and the pose, but I kinda liked it.

All these pictures aren't really what I would call perfect, yet. Rather, they helped me to figure some stuff out and allowed me to play with the lighting, the mood and feel of the pictures to come.

Let me know what you think!

Have a great Christmas Eve everyone!
Tomorrow, some more pictures.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Good news, not so good news folks.
First the not so good. I won't be able to post a new story on Sunday - a mixture of a hectic schedule and a lack of inspiration. Hopefully, I'd be able to continue soon.

The good news. A minor triumph. This is the 400th post! That's a lot of pictures.

Hey all, happy Sunday!
I've been making some changes to Starlight, but you'll only see it next year when this little story site turns two, or Season 2 as I like to call it. Yeah time flies when you're having fun. Didn't think my interest would hold for this long. I know I say this a lot but you have no idea how surprising it is for me that I am still doing this.

Comments have been kinda low this month, but the hits are still decent. So I hope I'm keeping you entertained. I'd still love to hear your thoughts though, so leave me a comment.

The next story starts on November 5th!

Respite - Part 19

Stone sat at the end of the long conference table watching the captain pace the room. Neither of them spoke after Stone's debriefing and for a while all that sounded in the room was the hum of the engines and the soft hiss of the air coming through the vents. Stone shifted in his chair. He appreciated the difficult decision Captain Hunt had to make, and for a split-second he was relieved that he wasn't tasked with it.

“And the doctor and H'loor still have no idea how to extract the infection?” Hunt said finally, his voice low as if he was talking to himself. He took the seat next to Stone and sighed. He suspected he knew Stone's answer.

“According to the doctor based on the latest samples we brought back, the infection has completely rewritten the biological make-up of the men. Every cell of their being is no longer human, and there is no way of distinguishing what is what.”

Hunt stared out of the huge windows.

“On the plus side, their human traits – memories and behavior – are still intact and the doctor reports that the mutation has seemingly ceased. Chances are, they will remain as they are now.” Stone paused. “Also sir, none of them want to leave the planet. Sergeant Landrey has requested to be reassigned to help with the colonization.”

“Some of these men have families – wives, husbands. Two of them have children for god's sake,” said Hunt.

“And they want their families to join them as soon as we're ready to send for them.”

“You seem to be in favor of this.”

“What is the alternative captain? We can't bring them back on the ship without killing them and even if we could, they wouldn't come voluntarily, unless you're thinking of forcing them.” Stone leaned in, “And then there is this captain, we've been out here for more than a year and this is the closest we've come to colonization, are we going to give that up? Earth isn't doing well these days sir, and the longer we wait, the more lives are going to be lost back home.”

Hunt rubbed his temples, Stone was right. The fleet sent to look for habitable planets have not been successful. Already four ships have been lost, while others are still combing through sectors of space without anything to report. Here they had a near-perfect planet where humanity could continue to thrive. With the domes they could start to transporting people over. The planet wouldn't fit everyone on Earth, but it'd be a damn good start.

“Sir, I believe that we should proceed as planned and begin the colonization process. The Umorkians are still members of this crew and citizens of Earth. We can begin by establishing a base here, made up of Umorkians and human crew members. We need to secure the planet and study it further. It's going to be a long process before we even have to deal with anything else. The lives of our families on Earth have to take precedence sir.”

Hunt nodded.

“And sir, we already have a volunteer who wants to stay back and help build the base.”

The captain looked up with quizzically.

“It's Lieutenant Harrow.”

...

“Pregnant! Isn't that just the most amazing and weird thing you've ever heard?” Nick Nelson said from the bathroom. He had been in there shaking off the sand from his boots and in his hair for over half an hour. “Shit, you'd think that with the environment suit you'd be sand-free. Shouldn't have taken off my helmet in the scout. The damn things are everywhere!”

Carter Colfax sat in bed. He wasn't really listening. From his excited voice he knew that Nick had enjoyed the mission and he was glad for him. Carter stared at his own fingers and scratched a non-existent itch on his thumb. He heard the shower turn on and Nick raised his voice to talk over the sound of running water.

Nick finally emerged from the bathroom toweling his head. He walked to the bed and jumped in, hugging Carter. “So, what have you been up to?”

Carter didn't respond immediately, he looked at Nick's smiling face and touched his bare shoulders. He could smell the fresh soap on him, he could feel the moisture on his skin, he could see how easy it would be to hurt this beautiful boy.

And so he said nothing. Carter pulled Nick closer to him and kissed him on the forehead.

“I know I've been distracted for the last few days,” Nick looked into Carter's eyes, his fingers gently circling his nipple. “I'd like to make it up to you, if you'd let me.”

Carter watched the pool of lights dance in Nick's eyes, a look he was familiar with. He didn't say anything. He didn't know what to say. He sucked on his own lips and tried to smile. The boy slid down and stroked his penis. Carter was surprised that his shame didn't affect his body's response to stimulation. Nick inched down further and took the hardening cock into his mouth. His eager lips and skillful tongue knew just where on Carter's penis to apply pressure and before long, precum brimmed from the eye and Nick lapped it up hungrily. He felt the suction and the warmth from the oral pleasure he was getting.

Carter was glad that Nick was so engrossed in his task. He was glad that the boy couldn't see him looking away.

Respite - Part 18

“And that's basically it commander,” Landrey said to the tactical team looking at him and the rest of the Umokian from behind their helmets. His voice echoed through in the cavernous chamber they gathered in making what he said sounding faraway.

The afternoon light poured into the chamber they were in. A few sunbeams came in through the broken ceiling of the castle. The whole structure looked old, left to decay, left to be forgotten. Stone kept his finger on the trigger and so did the landing party. As Landrey continued his explanation, Stone relaxed somewhat, but he still kept every one of the blue aliens in his sights.

“Somehow our memories and emotions are still intact, I feel no different now than I did yesterday or the day before.” Landrey caught Stone's expression behind the helmet. “I know what you're thinking, how can you be sure that we're not acting out of self-interest and this is not a giant plan to lure humans here and assimilate them, right?” Landrey saw Stone nod. “Well, I can only ask for your trust. Besides, you're the ones with the guns. Talk to any of us and you'll know that we're the same people you've known all this time.”

“Trust is difficult Sergeant Landrey... and it takes time,” Stone said.

“All the stinger plants that attacked us have wilted and died, so no one is going to get stung. We don't need you to help repopulate the planet sir,” Landrey's eyes were wide, desperate for his crewmates to believe him.

“And what about you? You're happy being changed this way?”

“Of course not, but until we have some other options, this is how we are. And I, for one, am fine with it. Perhaps some where along the line, when there is a way to reverse this, some of us may want that reconsider. But for now, this is who we are.”

“There's a lot to take in private,” sighed Stone. “But I suppose, for now at least, we can go along with this.”

“Sir, I have a question,” Private Nick Nelson took a step forward.

“Sure,” Stone said.

“With the stinging plants dead, how are the ten of you going to repopulate the planet?”

Landrey smiled broadly. He gestured towards Colin and Christian. “Colin is carrying.”

“Really?” Stone was started. He motioned to a medic. “Private, I hope you don't mind.”

“Nope, not at all,” Colin said moving towards the field medic who performed a scan with his onyx.

“Carrying what?” Nelson wondered out loud. And then it occurred to him “Oh my god!” he yelped and immediately regretted his outburst.

Colin tried to suppress a laugh but let out a short chuckle, as did a few others.

“How is that even possible? Who is the, I mean...” continued Nelson.

“Christian's the father. We, you know, and then this morning I just knew.”

“Still, how can you be pregnant?”

“I guess the Umorkian physiology is slightly different.”

“You had sex and now you're... that soon? What is the gestation period? Where would it, er, he or she, come out...?”

“At ease private,” said Landrey amused. “I think this jabbering thing is infectious.” He shot Harrow a look and winked.

“I honestly don't know. I think we'll find out when the time comes Nick,” Colin said.

“May I?” asked Nelson.

“Sure,” Colin stretched his belly and Nelson ran his fingers over the slits. He felt the small bumps underneath the flaps of muscles and they rolled under Nelson touch. Nelson traced the edges of the skin flaps and the slits widened and extended to Colin's sides.

“Shit, what did I do?” Nelson flinched.

“Oh don't worry,” said Colin reassuringly. “It's just that I'm really naked... and your touching is getting aroused, that's all.”

Respite - Part 17

It wasn't as if he didn't know. He knew, fully well in fact, what he was doing.

He could rationalize what he was feeling as an archaic notion, remnants of residual inclinations from a time when relationship commitments were different, or simply when the word commitment was last used, but still, he still knew.

He knew the moment he stopped fighting – not that he was putting up much of a resistance – that he wasn't doing the right thing. The right thing – such a quaint concept in this day and age.

The way Ensign Hank Bardeaux acted didn't surprise him, not one bit. In fact, he knew fully well what he was doing the moment he rapped at the ensign's door. He was counting on Hank to do it. A part of him hoped that this would diminish some responsibility on his part and absolve him somewhat. It was almost as if he half-expected to account for this sometime soon.

Carter Colfax knew when that day came, who this would hurt the most. And even as he bent Hank over his bed and repeatedly plugged the youth, he thought of the person he'd hurt. Colfax didn't dare say his name. Not even in his head.

“Why are you throwing the first meaningful relationship out of the window?” he asked himself, watching his penis disappear into the soft folds of Hank's anus. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” he scolded himself, as if an answer would pop up. “What are you so afraid of?” Colfax's wet cock emerged from the fleshy orifice and coated the ring of the opening with his second load. Before his cock fully deflated, he pushed the gooey liquid into the warm snug hole with his cockhead.

“What the fuck is wrong with you?”

The scout craft hovered for a good long while. The glare of the afternoon sun reflecting from the sand below made Commander Stone squint. He activated the tint shield on his helmet and looked out to see the landing barge below. There it was, the sole metallic object on the ground, outshining the glowing sands. He waited patiently for the pilot to complete his scans. Beside him were a contingent of armed men and medics waiting for his orders. Stone sat back in his chair in the cockpit and studied the holoscreen as the sensors searched the ground grid by grid. He needed a confirmation before setting the craft down. Even with Lieutenant Harrow's briefing and assurance he still wasn't about to risk the lives of anymore crewmen.

“Confirmed sir,” said the pilot. “The only human life sign below is Lieutenant Harrow. We have a few indeterminate readings, one in the barge and the rest are not in the immediate area.”

Stone nodded solemnly. He knew that the doctor and H'loor were searching the medical database for a possible method to remove the infection. He hoped that they were making progress. For just a brief moment, guilt crept up on Stone. He was losing too many men, a fact that had been haunted him for many months now. He let the moment pass. He inhaled deeply and shook it off. He had a mission to complete.

The scout craft circled one more time before extending its struts and landed.

“I want everyone on full alert,” Stone said activating his onyx and charging up his energy rifle. He watched everyone do the same. “Keep the engines running lieutenant, I want you to take us out of here at a moment's notice.” The pilot nodded.

The tactical team went into formation as soon as they exited the craft. Private Nick Nelson raised his weapon and rubbed the side of the trigger with his finger. He wasn't used to combat situations in environmental suits and the short hour-long training before the mission was hardly enough. However, he was trained to make the best out of any situation, and he knew that he would perform well. That's what troopers did. From the corner of his helmet he saw Private Adam Bonde shoot him a glare before looking away. Nelson hadn't spoken to anyone from Ground Command after the fight, and he wondered what his fellow troopers were thinking. He exhaled forcefully and fogged up the visor of his helmet. “Don't take it with you Nick,” he mumbled to himself. “It's all about the mission now Nick, keep it together.”

From afar they saw Lieutenant John Harrow walking towards them. He was unarmed but the rifles were trained on him. Harrow knew the drill and held his hands out and up. When he was close enough, they could see his smile and relief.

“Glad to see you guys,” said Harrow. “I hope someone brought me an extra airpack. It's getting a little stale in here,” he joked. “And gentlemen, I've someone you should get reacquainted with.”

Hey all,
Sorry for the delays and the postponements. I had some initial problems with the internet as well as my computer, but that was soon settled.

Then I started reading all the 10th anniversary articles and looking at the pictures that came with the stories. I have to admit, it brought back the trauma I felt on that fateful day. It became clear that it was inappropriate to post an update with all the saucy bits on this very solemn day. Hope you all understand.

I hope that you are enjoying the chapters so far.

I'll see you on Sunday, when Starlight: Respite continues.

Respite - Part 16

Droplets of moisture covered the polished hull of the barge. The wet beads glistened as the sun rose. Through the screen of the cockpit Lieutenant Harrow looked out at the desolate plain and realized that his perceptions had altered. He no longer saw a barren a barren land before him, rather, what lay ahead was potential – a potential for new life and new beginnings. He and Landrey had stayed up talking. In a way, the young trooper had shared more about himself than the planet they were on. Now curled up beside him, Harrow saw past the blue skin and the strange alien mutations and found that the young man was oddly endearing.

Through his gloved hand Harrow stroked the sleeping Marcus Landrey's arm. They had left the barge doors open so that Marcus could sleep inside the craft. Watching Marcus' peacefully slow breathing and the faces his makes mid-dream, Harrow wished that he wasn't encumbered by the environment suit. He wanted to feel the soft blue skin and how warm, or not, his body was. Inside his helmet Harrow smiled to himself, amused that he could feel this way about another man. Although he had participated in Crew Contact sessions from time to time, he had always summed up each encounter as a purely physical experience, a means for gratification. He thought about his wife back on Earth and how she would gloat if she ever found out about these new feelings. She did know him better than anyone else after all. For a while he entertained the thought of the three of them living together on this planet. And for a moment it all felt... possible.

Ensign Hank Bardeaux lay on his back in bed, his legs crossed with a projection pad resting on his thigh. Even though he was off-duty he was still tracking the orbital probes that circled the planet below. Over the last few hours he had received more data about the terrain and climate than he knew where to store them. He had spent much of the afternoon finding room from the computer mainframe. And it wasn't easy, data storage space was something each department was very protective about, territorial even. But he managed and now he watched as streams of information flooded in from the probes and onto the allotted sections of the ship's computer.

A knock on the door.

“Come in,” said Hank without looking away from the holoscreens. He didn't turn to see who it was until the visitor was standing next to his bed.

“Hey,” said Hank with a slight smile and sat up.

“Am I disturbing you?” asked Lieutenant Carter Colfax.

“Nope, not at all.” Hank patted the space next to him indicating that Colfax should sit down. The lieutenant thought for a while and then complied. “What can I do for you?”

“I just wanted to, you know, to.., err... apologize again for, you know...”

“You are so eloquent.”

“I didn't mean to freak out like that, and then the second time when...”

“Hey, it's fine,” Hank smiled and moved closer to Colfax. “Where is your little boy anyway?”
“He's getting ready to join the landing party with Commander Stone.”

“So the cat's away and you're here to play?”

“No, it's not that, I can't -”

Hank Bardeaux leaned in and kissed Colfax. He swiped his tongue over the startled man's lips until they opened and let his tongue in. Hank then knew that he had broken down his resistance.

Hank felt Colfax's arms around him tighten when he jumped on and straddled the man. Hands reached under the ensign's uniform, eager to get to his skin. He let go of Colfax's lips and raised his arms, Carter pulled the tunic off him and they resumed kissing. The young ensign performed his signature move of grinding his buttocks against Colfax and he felt the result pressed hard between his cheeks.

“Get out of that uniform,” ordered Hank and he got off Colfax.

When they were both naked again, they rushed into an embrace and their lips found each other just as quickly. Hank felt the hunger in their lip-lock, he felt the intensity each time Colfax bit his lip and sucked on his wet tongue, drinking in his saliva.

The two of them stumbled and they found the bed. They assumed their previous positions and Hank reached back and grabbed Colfax's penis, using his thumb to spread the precum all over the head. In a swift move he placed the tip at his entrance and eased himself down. He watched Colfax's face experiencing the mounting pleasure of penetration.

Hank continued to scrutinize Colfax's expressions. He watched him close his eyes and enjoy the soft friction from his gyrating moves. Then Colfax's eyes snapped open and his mood shifted changed.

“Push it out of your mind,” Hank said knowingly. “Push it out of your mind and push your cock in all the way.” The young ensign almost sneered his last words. He didn't want any wavering, not when he's gotten this close.

Yet, the struggle of emotions continued to play on Colfax's face. Hank was determined to win this one. He wasn't about to lose when they've come this far. Yes, they, he wasn't the one who relented, he wasn't the one who was hungry, he wasn't the one who got naked and had his cock buried up an ass. He quickened his moves and stimulated the lieutenant by pinching his nipples and kissing him intermittently. He wanted Colfax to give up his load. He desperately needed him to.

And he did. Hank almost laughed when he felt Colfax's hot milk rush into him.

Hope you all had a great weekend and I hope you enjoyed the latest chapter. For those of you who commented and emailed me, thanks a bunch! I love hearing your theories as to what is happening.
I won't say if you're right on the mark or not though. Haha.

For those of you who've been here a while, you would know this difficulty I have in creating Starlight, the ship. I have made a model, I have rendered, but I've not been a 100% happy about it. Not knowing how to render anything in 3D limits my ability to control the way the ship looks and manipulate it to fit the story. I made these pictures a few days ago and they do conform to, more or less, the look of the ship that I have posted here before. These were all rendered with Photoshop and it was tough keeping the shape consistent.

Any 3D geniuses out there who can lend me a hand?

Have a great week ahead everyone!
