Previously on Starlight

"We're all here to learn are we not?”asked Lieutenant David Sparr.

“Very well,” said B'loor visibly flabbergasted. He reached out his right hand and held out his fingers. As Sparr watched, the fingers started to extend. The pinkish tubes of meat grew and grew until all five digits were sprouting tendrils that were about a foot long.

“Your cocks are beautiful,” smiled Sparr.

“They are not 'cocks', these are my sex organs,” said B'loor as if insulted. “They are called ulok.”

“Whatever you call them, they are making me hard.”

-----

“But we can't treat you,” said Hunt. “You've really muddled up things for me Dave. Your little stunt may have very well jeopardized our trade with the Qormar and shorted the time we can do anything about this because we have an unknown attack force coming our way.”

“What's going to happen now?” asked Sparr hanging his head down.

“There is only one way,” said H'loor.

“You and B'loor must finish what you started.”

“What?”“We've found out that if you complete the sexual intercourse, another chemical would be introduced into your body from B'loor and that would neutralize the effects of first secretion,” said DeSalle.

“But there's a huge downside, Dave,” said Hunt sitting down.

“To complete the sexual intercourse means that B'loor would have to deposit the lippa, his eggs into you,” said the T'aal elder.

“The lippa would attach themselves inside you and they cannot be removed until they hatch.”

“It'll kill you Dave,” said DeSalle. “Our bodies are not meant to do this.”

Meanwhile, on Julan a planet covered by water, Lieutenant Commander George Stone has an amazing find.

Headed towards him and Lieutenant Nester, just below the surface of the water were three dark shapes swimming very fast.

At first glace they looked to be almost gliding through the greenish liquid mass. And suddenly, they jumped out of waves, flipped and dived back into the sea. This reminded Stone of the long-extinct sea animals that lived in Earth's oceans. He remembered watching video footage of whales leaping in and out of water in almost the same way. But what Stone saw didn't resemble whales at all. In fact, they were humanoid. As the three continued their jumping, Stone got a better look at them and his eyes widened.

“Mermaids?” Stone said looking over at the lieutenant, mirroring his amazement.

“Mer-men, more like.” said Nester smiling.

Back on Starlight...

“Welcome captain!” said Bolak, ambassador of the Yusei, the people who live in the solar system that includes Julan. “We hope that tonight will be up to your expectations.”

“This is our essential festival fare,” said the delighted Manduk, the ambassador's chief of staff. “This is an indigenous animal that we hunt on Julan, the planet we now orbit.” Manduk leaned in and pointed out the different items on the plate. “This is an ancient delicacy from our forefathers and eating this animal is a tradition that is close to our hearts. We call the creature Ollustra, they are a sea animal that lives on Julan. Here we have the tail steamed to perfection with just a sprinkle of herbs as seasoning. On the side are special cuts of meat from another part of the Ollustra. This meat has a different texture compared to the tail and so we prepared it differently by roasting it over a low flame for a few hours.”

B'loor barged into sickbay so hurriedly that he went through the doors before they were fully open. He bumped his shoulder and resulted in a loud bang. DeSalle turned in time to see the T'aal briskly walking towards him.

“What's the hurry B'loor? I was still eating when you scarabed,” said the doctor.

B'loor didn't say anything. He tapped his onyx and summoned a holoscreen. When DeSelle leaned in to look at the readouts, B'loor briskly walked across the room and stood next to the sedated David Sparr.“Now I know why you took the first barge back here, these readings are amazing,” said DeSelle walking up behind B'loor. “If you are right, the elements in the water on Julan could effectively remove the lippa inside Sparr.”

“Yes doctor, I've gone through the readings several times and I am confident it will work. Lieutenant Sparr would need to be submerged in the Julan sea for at least two days, the eggs should die and dislodge from his body,” B'loor said without looking at DeSelle. “Doctor, I need you to prepare him for transport. I will notify the captain.”

“B'loor have you told the rest of the T'aal?”“B'loor,” repeated DeSelle moving closer to the T'aal.

“I read up on your planet's doctrines and laws while you were on away.” The doctor pulled up a holoscreen and pushed the interface towards B'loor.

“The T'aal laws are absolute when it comes to terminating life, you can get yourself into a lot of trouble doing this.” The doctor tapped on the screen and expanded the text. “If you perform this abortion, you can be sentenced to death or...”

“I am well aware of our laws doctor, and I also am aware that my T'aal brothers have been in conference for the last two hours. Please proceed with preparing the patient,” B'loor said and walked out of the room.

“This is not going to end well,” muttered DeSelle as the doors closed.
